Rahul Dravid at Trent Bridge.
It was Rahul Dravid's heroic effort of a 117runs that helped India take a lead in the second test at Trent Bridge, England.India's innings started on a low when Abhinav Mukund got out of the first ball of the innings.VVS Laxman came one down and they both were building a steady partnership till Laxman got out to Prior caught behind of Bresnan. Then India were looking to struggle as Suresh Raina and Sachin Tendulkar got out.Later Yuvraj Singh and Rahul Dravid build a solid partnership, after which India struggled to make an impact as India's   tail-end failed miserably. The indian innings ended at 288/10 when there was 11 overs left in the game.England who came on to bat lost an early wicket of Cook who was caught by Yuvraj Singh of Ishant Sharma.England were 24/1 at Stumps.

Anyways congrats RD for his third test ton in five test matches.Amazing year for him.

Gautham Gambhir

Zaheer Khan
The latest news from the India England test series is that Zaheer Khan won't be playing the Nottingham test match at Trent Bridge and will most probably be replaced by Sreesanth or Munaf Patel. There are also rumours of an injury for Gautham Gambhir and it is said that he will be replaced with Sehwag while Abhinav Mukund might find his place in the squad. While Suresh Raina might be playing again here. The match would be one to watch for.The match starts at 3.30 Indian time and can be watched on Star Cricket.

We wish Mahendra Singh Dhoni ,the team and especially our Wall to do his magic.

Suresh Raina.
Raina who had a poor first Innings at the lords test match said that his second innings score of 78 was inspired from Rahul Dravid's 33rd Century and his first Century at lords.

Sachin spent quite some time with Raina and advised him not to give it away after having done well in the West Indies... ‘Keep working hard’ was his message... Dravid said much the same thing, boosting Raina’s confidence no end,

India loses Lords Test by 196 runs

Posted by Athul Jayachandran | Labels: , , | Posted On at 5:22 AM

Rahul Dravid
Despite Rahul Dravid's heroic century in 1st Innings to avoid follow on and Suresh Raina's heroic fight back in the second innings England managed to get India all out before 30 overs were left to play.at the start of the session today we lost 3 wickets in the first session of Rahul Dravid,VVS Laxman and Tendulkar.Dravid and Laxman looked in top form when an error very unlikely of Dravid came when he edged the bowl to England keeper Matt Prior. Then Sachin came on to bat and looked agressive at start hitting a century initially but then went on to a defensive play.Sachin just managed 12 runs from 68 balls.Sachin was suffering from viral fever. These were the three wickets which fell in the first session and then the next session we lost the wicket of Gautam Gambhir.Things were looking worse for India when Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Suresh Raina kept a partnership going and at that point we were in hope of saving this test match but that all ended when Dhoni edged one to the keeper of Tremlett's bowling.Broad came soon and a had a huge lbw appeal of Suresh Raina turned down, Which was hitting middle stump and was also in line,The decision was turned down by Billy Bowden. After Dhoni's departure came Harbhajan Singh who looked very defensive at start and looked dangerous as he went on.He hit two cracking fours before he got out Tremlett as again he proved his weekness to short balls.Praveen Kumar came on to bat after that and had a short life scoring 2 from 9 balls and then came Zaheer Khan on to bat.Suresh Raina was the next to go edging it to the slips and finally Tremlett got Ishant Sharma caught behind the stumps and England were the happier side winning by a huge margin of 196 runs against the world champions.

Indian team morale was down due to a lot of reasons starting with Zaheer's and Gambhir's injury and then Sachin's viral fever. But we are a champion team and should not complaint.Looking forward to a great second test on Friday.

First century at Lords for the Wall

Rahul Dravid celebrating his 33rd International Century/
It was one of the most beautiful innings of his career, Which i believe RD will cherish for a life time.He had missed out the century on his debut at the Lords cricket ground where he made 95 and was just five runs short of his century.Mean while Sourav Ganguly who was at the other end went on to make a debut century. It was a dream for RD to get a century and that long time dream has come true after 15 long years. We congragulate Dravid on this achivement.

Rahul Dravid celebrating his maiden century at Lords.

Rahul Dravid's 103 notout came of 344 balls at a strike rate close to 46.Dravid kept his cool while wickets were falling at the other end.It was Ishant Sharma who got out last while Rahul was at the other end.He burst out into celebration once he hit the century and that showed how much he cared about that century.India has avoided follow-on and at Stumps England were batting at 5/0 with Strauss and Cook at the crease. The test could easily go into a draw by the looks, Anyway it would be interesting to watch how India can cope up with the absence of Zaheer Khan.

Eager to see Indian Batsmen vs Graeme Swann Battle

Posted by Athul Jayachandran | Labels: , | Posted On at 6:45 AM

Rahul Dravid.
India's No 3 batsmen Rahul Dravid said on Wednesday that he will be looking forward to see the battle between Graeme Swann and the Indian Batsmen. He also said that James Anderson could also be decisive in the outcome of the test series.Graeme Swann since his test debut in 2008 has then taken 140 wickets at an average below 28 and is currently ranked 2nd among test bowlers.Dravid said that

Dravid talking to the press.
He's an attacking bowler and that's one of the things that is different. He's not just looking to contain, he's looking to take wickets. He's not scared to toss the ball up and gets turn with good sideways spin. It will be a good contest against batsmen who are good players against spin, who will not be scared to take him on. Swann and Anderson are the key. Anderson has bowled really well. He's been their trump card.

Graeme Swann

Dravid said that tests will be decisive of India's pace attack and the injuries that are the main problem as of now.Last time India toured England in 2002 Dravid's 217 made India win here.Anyways looking forward to a great test match.

India win test series against West Indies

Posted by Athul Jayachandran | Labels: | Posted On Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at 2:54 AM

Indian Cricket Team
After the third test ended in a draw.India has taken a 1-0 lead against West Indies and has clinched the series. It was Rahul Dravids century that paved way for Indias victory in the first test.Mean while the second and third tests ended in a draw.India could have won the third test having to take less that 90runs and seven wickets in hand with 15overs.But it was Dhoni who refused to take the risk.

We wish the Indian team congrats and all the best for the upcoming series against England this month.
