If all goes well you would see The Wall in a new role as the mentor and coach of the Indian U-19 team. CricInfo hints at a possible press conference to officially announce things by The BCCI. Earlier there were many questions raised about Dravid's omission from Indian team's advisory commitee. All questions would be put to an end following this press conference.

Dravid earlier mentored his IPL team Rajasthan Royals, where young players like Rahane and Sanju Samson were mentored by him.

Birthday wishes to Sunil Gavaskar

Birthday Sunil Gavaskar
Sunil Gavaskar
We wish a very happy birthday to the Legend Sunny Gavaskar, who turned 64 today. Gavaskar till date is India's best test opener and has been an inspiration to many young cricketers like Dravid and Tendulkar who idolized him. He was widely known for his ability to perform well against fast bowlers and often he went out to bat without a helmet. His average of 65 against West Indies indicates how well he played fast bowlers of that era. He is the first player in test history to cross 10,000 runs.

We wish him good health and happiness.

Rahul Dravid as Commentator during Bangalore Test match

Rahul Dravid commentary during India New Zeland Test match at Bangalore
We missed this, and are unable to find video of the same on youtube. A fan on our Facebook page said that he talked about Virat Kohli being the best batsmen in the side today and about meaningless 5-7 match ODI series.

He as well know is a good speaker, who impressed many with his brilliant speech at Bradman Oration. We wish RD chooses coaching over a media career, because we believe he has so much more to give back to the game.

Rahul Sharad Dravid retires from International Cricket

Dravid announcing Retirement from Test Cricket.
A legend of the Game, that is what Rahul Dravid was. The man who played for the team, then for himself. In an press-meet organized by BCCI on March 9th, The Wall of Indian Cricket announced his retirement from Test cricket. 164 Test matches, 13288 runs at an average of 52 per match is an achievement that would make any RD fan proud. He has records that are unique and precious. He always put the team in front and cared little about his personal achievements, That was one of the things that adds to the respect people have for him.

RD's last words at the press conference were
I leave in Sadness, but with Pride

No matter what happens you will always be in Millions of hearts like mine. We will continue to love and Respect you RD. We are eagerly awaiting to see Rajasthan Royals perform under your captaincy.

"   As you would all know that Rahul Dravid retired. Friends, Please stop comparisons. I am proud to have lived in an era where legends like Dravid, Sachin and Ganguly played. I have argued and abused friends over silly comparisons about RD, Sorry friends. They all came deep down from my heart because that's how much i loved and respected him. "

BCCI and it's dirty politics would ruin the game in our country, There is nobody worthy of the No 3 spot now. A question to all the Sachin die-hard fans out there, What if the same happens to Sachin ?

BCCI to pay 413 crores as tax to Income tax department

Posted by Athul Jayachandran | Labels: , | Posted On Monday, February 20, 2012 at 8:56 PM

Rahul Dravid
No other sports organization is as popular and wealthy as the BCCI, The Board of Cricket Control in India is all set to pay a whooping sum of 413 crores as tax to the income tax department. The BCCI has only paid 41 crores as now, which is just 10 % of the total amount to be paid. It is said that BCCI has made about 963 crore rupees as revenue during the last financial year.

The big question that remains is whether BCCI will be able to pay the dues in time instead of going mad over the retirement of legends.

Rahul Sharad Dravid
Rahul Dravid after the impressive performance in the test series against England has moved up to the top 10 of ICC Test rankings. The wall moved from 10th to 9th position when his team mate Sachin Tendulkar moved one place up from 5th to 4th.Jaques Kallis of South Africa still leads in the first position and there are four English batsmen in the top 10.Kumar Sangakkara moved to fifth place after his poor performance in the last test against Australia.

We wish RD all the best to become No 1 soon after the test series in India.

'England the better side' - Rahul Dravid

Posted by Athul Jayachandran | Labels: , , , | Posted On Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at 4:35 AM

After India's 4-0 series loss to England at Oval today.Rahul Dravid happens to be the highest Indian run getter in the series with 461 runs which included three test centuries.Three test centuries came at Lords,Edgbaston and Oval.4 years ago an Indian Team led by Rahul Dravid had won here on England.

Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar

RD commented that England were the better side of the two and they deserved the win.

England are deservedly the No 1 ranked side in the world. This is one of the best sides I have played against who have all their key areas well covered. We should have played a lot better as we did expect a tough series

Really sad with the humiliating loss we had in the test series. Now it is time to salvage some pride by winning the ODI series.

Sachin's Century of Centuries might happen today

Posted by Athul Jayachandran | Labels: , , | Posted On Monday, August 22, 2011 at 6:12 PM

Sachin Tendulkar
There is every single chance that the little master would go on to hit his century of centuries today at the oval.At close of play yesterday the 4th day of the test match Sachin Tendulkar was notout on 35 and was looking to be in top form.Amit Mishra was at the other end making his contribution of 8runs.

Rahul Dravid yesterday said he wish Sachin all the best today. We also wish the Little master all the very best.

India loses England series 3-0 with one more test left

Posted by Athul Jayachandran | Labels: , , , | Posted On Sunday, August 14, 2011 at 5:38 AM

Alistair Cook
India had a very humiliating defeat when India lost to England by an Innings and 242 runs. When the Indian batting order failed miserably to a very strong and confident England side lead by Andrew Strauss. It was Alistair Cook's 294 that paved way for England's win.We congratulate the England side on their victory and are hoping and praying that the Indian team bounces back to form soon.

Rahul Dravid's 34th century helps India lead at Trent Bridge

Posted by Athul Jayachandran | Labels: , , | Posted On Sunday, July 31, 2011 at 2:34 PM

Rahul Dravid at Trent Bridge.
It was Rahul Dravid's heroic effort of a 117runs that helped India take a lead in the second test at Trent Bridge, England.India's innings started on a low when Abhinav Mukund got out of the first ball of the innings.VVS Laxman came one down and they both were building a steady partnership till Laxman got out to Prior caught behind of Bresnan. Then India were looking to struggle as Suresh Raina and Sachin Tendulkar got out.Later Yuvraj Singh and Rahul Dravid build a solid partnership, after which India struggled to make an impact as India's   tail-end failed miserably. The indian innings ended at 288/10 when there was 11 overs left in the game.England who came on to bat lost an early wicket of Cook who was caught by Yuvraj Singh of Ishant Sharma.England were 24/1 at Stumps.

Anyways congrats RD for his third test ton in five test matches.Amazing year for him.

Zaheer Khan and Gautham Gambhir unlikely for Trent Bridge test match

Posted by Athul Jayachandran | Labels: , , | Posted On Friday, July 29, 2011 at 5:29 AM

Gautham Gambhir

Zaheer Khan
The latest news from the India England test series is that Zaheer Khan won't be playing the Nottingham test match at Trent Bridge and will most probably be replaced by Sreesanth or Munaf Patel. There are also rumours of an injury for Gautham Gambhir and it is said that he will be replaced with Sehwag while Abhinav Mukund might find his place in the squad. While Suresh Raina might be playing again here. The match would be one to watch for.The match starts at 3.30 Indian time and can be watched on Star Cricket.

We wish Mahendra Singh Dhoni ,the team and especially our Wall to do his magic.

Dravid's Lords century inspired me -Suresh Raina

Posted by Athul Jayachandran | Labels: , , | Posted On Thursday, July 28, 2011 at 4:52 AM

Suresh Raina.
Raina who had a poor first Innings at the lords test match said that his second innings score of 78 was inspired from Rahul Dravid's 33rd Century and his first Century at lords.

Sachin spent quite some time with Raina and advised him not to give it away after having done well in the West Indies... ‘Keep working hard’ was his message... Dravid said much the same thing, boosting Raina’s confidence no end,

Brian Lara and Rahul Dravid.
Rahul Dravid now has a new record to his name.He is the highest rungetter in fourth innings of a test match,he has surpassed Brian Lara to achive this feat who had 1440 runs, While Dravid now has 1468 runs to his name.Dravid has scored one century and nine 50's in fourth innings for India. While Sunil Gavaskar is the only other bastmen in top five in the list with 1398 runs to his name, While Sachin Tendulkar is 7th in this list with 1371 runs to his name.No other Indian Batsmen other than this three have made it to the top 10 of this list.

I got the stats from Rediff page.

India loses Lords Test by 196 runs

Posted by Athul Jayachandran | Labels: , , | Posted On at 5:22 AM

Rahul Dravid
Despite Rahul Dravid's heroic century in 1st Innings to avoid follow on and Suresh Raina's heroic fight back in the second innings England managed to get India all out before 30 overs were left to play.at the start of the session today we lost 3 wickets in the first session of Rahul Dravid,VVS Laxman and Tendulkar.Dravid and Laxman looked in top form when an error very unlikely of Dravid came when he edged the bowl to England keeper Matt Prior. Then Sachin came on to bat and looked agressive at start hitting a century initially but then went on to a defensive play.Sachin just managed 12 runs from 68 balls.Sachin was suffering from viral fever. These were the three wickets which fell in the first session and then the next session we lost the wicket of Gautam Gambhir.Things were looking worse for India when Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Suresh Raina kept a partnership going and at that point we were in hope of saving this test match but that all ended when Dhoni edged one to the keeper of Tremlett's bowling.Broad came soon and a had a huge lbw appeal of Suresh Raina turned down, Which was hitting middle stump and was also in line,The decision was turned down by Billy Bowden. After Dhoni's departure came Harbhajan Singh who looked very defensive at start and looked dangerous as he went on.He hit two cracking fours before he got out Tremlett as again he proved his weekness to short balls.Praveen Kumar came on to bat after that and had a short life scoring 2 from 9 balls and then came Zaheer Khan on to bat.Suresh Raina was the next to go edging it to the slips and finally Tremlett got Ishant Sharma caught behind the stumps and England were the happier side winning by a huge margin of 196 runs against the world champions.

Indian team morale was down due to a lot of reasons starting with Zaheer's and Gambhir's injury and then Sachin's viral fever. But we are a champion team and should not complaint.Looking forward to a great second test on Friday.

India needs 378runs with 9 wickets in hand to win Lords Test on Day5

Posted by Athul Jayachandran | Labels: , | Posted On Monday, July 25, 2011 at 4:06 AM

Rahul Dravid
What a showdown.India now needs to achieve a target of about 378 with 9 wickets in Hand. The second Innings for India had started with Dravid coming up as an opening player to substitute Gautam Gambhir to a hospital for scanning his injured hand. Now VVS laxman came in at number 3 as Sachin also is down with fever and will be batting lower in the order.

First century at Lords for the Wall

Rahul Dravid celebrating his 33rd International Century/
It was one of the most beautiful innings of his career, Which i believe RD will cherish for a life time.He had missed out the century on his debut at the Lords cricket ground where he made 95 and was just five runs short of his century.Mean while Sourav Ganguly who was at the other end went on to make a debut century. It was a dream for RD to get a century and that long time dream has come true after 15 long years. We congragulate Dravid on this achivement.

Rahul Dravid celebrating his maiden century at Lords.

Rahul Dravid's 103 notout came of 344 balls at a strike rate close to 46.Dravid kept his cool while wickets were falling at the other end.It was Ishant Sharma who got out last while Rahul was at the other end.He burst out into celebration once he hit the century and that showed how much he cared about that century.India has avoided follow-on and at Stumps England were batting at 5/0 with Strauss and Cook at the crease. The test could easily go into a draw by the looks, Anyway it would be interesting to watch how India can cope up with the absence of Zaheer Khan.
