Dravid announcing Retirement from Test Cricket.
A legend of the Game, that is what Rahul Dravid was. The man who played for the team, then for himself. In an press-meet organized by BCCI on March 9th, The Wall of Indian Cricket announced his retirement from Test cricket. 164 Test matches, 13288 runs at an average of 52 per match is an achievement that would make any RD fan proud. He has records that are unique and precious. He always put the team in front and cared little about his personal achievements, That was one of the things that adds to the respect people have for him.

RD's last words at the press conference were
I leave in Sadness, but with Pride

No matter what happens you will always be in Millions of hearts like mine. We will continue to love and Respect you RD. We are eagerly awaiting to see Rajasthan Royals perform under your captaincy.

"   As you would all know that Rahul Dravid retired. Friends, Please stop comparisons. I am proud to have lived in an era where legends like Dravid, Sachin and Ganguly played. I have argued and abused friends over silly comparisons about RD, Sorry friends. They all came deep down from my heart because that's how much i loved and respected him. "

BCCI and it's dirty politics would ruin the game in our country, There is nobody worthy of the No 3 spot now. A question to all the Sachin die-hard fans out there, What if the same happens to Sachin ?

Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar shares a smile.
On the third day of the just concluded 1st Test against West Indies, Sachin Tendulkar came became the first cricketer in Test History to reach 15000 runs.It was Rahul Dravid and Sachin batting on the opposite ends.Sachin after the day's play said on a interview that

I’m not sure what to say about getting to 15,000 runs (in Test cricket)... Feels nice for sure... My first thought was that Rahul (Dravid) had also been the non-striker when I’d got the 10,000th-run,
Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid
Sachin made his 10000th run also with Dravid at the other end that was back in 2005 at the Eden Gardens.Meanwhile Dravid recalled what he said to Sachin on that day at Eden.
Six years ago, Sachin had laughed when I’d said he should go for 15,000 Test runs... Today, I asked him to go for 20,000! He laughed yet again and I’d to tell him not to do so..
Anyway we wish Sachin Tendulkar all the best and also wish our RD who is nearing 13000 test runs. :)

India loses England series 3-0 with one more test left

Posted by Athul Jayachandran | Labels: , , , | Posted On Sunday, August 14, 2011 at 5:38 AM

Alistair Cook
India had a very humiliating defeat when India lost to England by an Innings and 242 runs. When the Indian batting order failed miserably to a very strong and confident England side lead by Andrew Strauss. It was Alistair Cook's 294 that paved way for England's win.We congratulate the England side on their victory and are hoping and praying that the Indian team bounces back to form soon.

'I am still motivated by Sachin Tendulkar' - Rahul Dravid

Posted by Athul Jayachandran | Labels: , | Posted On Sunday, June 19, 2011 at 3:47 AM

Rahul Dravid
Rahul Dravid was all praise for his team mate with whom he has 19-Century partnerships(A world record).Dravid said he was still inspired by his team mate and good friend Sachin Tendulkar.RD commented that
Sachin Tendulkar
He's been phenomenal, has had terrific last 2-3 years and possibly done the best batting of his life. When I came he had already been around for seven years; he was my captain in West Indies (in 1997) and was a source of great motivation. That motivation has not changed,

Rahul Dravid is the highest run-getter against the West Indies with a total of 1408 runs putting behind Sachin and VVS Laxman at an average of about 67.He also hoped that some new talent could be found from this test series as this was a great opportunity for youngsters to prove themselves. He said that

Over the next year or two, young batsmen should be coming through -- like Ganguly, Laxman and I did. Sooner than later, similar young boys would come through and two or three would have similar long careers for the next 15 years. Then the team is going to be in good health,

RD also said he would love to score runs at the Sabina Park in West Indies, Because it is one of his favourite stadiums. We wish him all the best.

Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid on the field
Sachin Tendulkar was all praise for his team mates Rahul Dravid,Anil Kumble,VVS Laxman, and Sourav Ganguly who is fondly called the Fabulous five by their fans.He finds Rahul Dravid's concentration and Technique excellent, While he thinks that Anil Kumble is the greatest bowler he has played with and Laxman the most wristy and Ganguly the player who figured out his game very well.

He commented on Rahul Dravid and Sourav Ganguly as

Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid
From the manner in which Rahul and Sourav had batted in their debut Test match, it was quite evident that they were there to stay.Rahul's forte was excellent technique and he loved to occupy the crease for long hours. Rahul concentrated extremely well -- I mean, still concentrates very well.
